"...when troops shall march out of Boston...it ought to be deemed a design to carry into execution by force the late acts of Parliament and therefore the military forces of the province ought to be assembled and an army of observation immediately formed, to act solely on the defensive, so long as it can be justified on the principles of reason and self preservation and no longer."
Paul Revere made his famous ride on the night of April 18th, 1775, the night before the British troops mentioned above attempted to take away the weapons of the colonists, and in defense, in principles of reason and self preservation, the first shots of the American Revolution were fired.
Also on April 19th, two hundred and twenty years later, a single, solitary nut-job bombed a government building.
Does anyone (besides Bill Clinton) really wonder which event the second amendment defenders commemorated with their rallies earlier this week? Hmm? Anyone?
To all my fellow patriots, I echo the words of Captain John Parker of the Lexington Militia:
"Stand your ground. If they mean to have a war, let it begin here!"
