Night Swim

It had been a while since Nicco saw his twins and with school starting up in just a few days, we decided we needed to get together over the weekend. Also, their Mama and Nicco's Mama both had birthdays to celebrate.

The kids are great. Always. We do have a rule about closing doors though. No closing doors. We won't interrupt their play or interfere with their business. Just keep the door open. At one point the twins' dad said he wants the girls to spend lots and lots of time with Nicco so that when they're older and he's all suave and putting real moves on girls they will be all, "Nicco? No way. He's like our brother!"

We had dinner out on the patio and it was hot and muggy...we still have monsoon moisture in the air. The kids jumped in the pool and Patrice told me to turn off the light because he had a surprise. Many variations of fetch ensued using the light sticks we had left from the fourth of July. Once the kids were settled into their fun, the daddies joined them. At one point Patrice said he was sneaking up on Nicco and one of the girls who were talking quietly in one corner of the pool. He overheard Nicco say, "I have a secret and you can't tell anyone..." but it was too late for him to swim away and Nicco saw him and didn't tell the secret. Cute though. My boy and his girl.

The kids always play a little wii, which is fine, but this time our friends brought some table games and one of the girls really wanted to play Apples to Apples. It was late but we promised, so we ate cake and played a few rounds. Nicco didn't quite get it. On every turn he said, "My word has nothing to do with it, but it's hilarious!" As long as he had fun...
